Estimates and quantity guides, not guarantees
Results are deterministic estimates from your inputs, your prices and standard reference conventions (material = area × (1 + waste); boxes/tiles/rolls/bags/sheets/pieces by coverage, rounded up; carpet sq yd = area ÷ 9; install cost = area × your $/sq ft + labor + add-ons, ×(1 + contingency)). Real projects vary — verify measurements and figures before relying on them.
Not a bid, not a price index
Cost tools give planning estimates from your own prices, not bids or contracts, and we store no material or labor price list, no regional cost index, no product catalog and no installer directory. Cost bands are a labeled sanity guide only. Get itemized written quotes from licensed, insured flooring installers.
Confirm coverage & buy extra
Quantity and coverage tools give material-quantity guides. Confirm coverage against your product’s box/spec sheet and buy 5–10% extra for cuts, waste and future repairs — coverage and box sizes vary by brand.
Labeled typicals, not a spec
Waste %, box/tile coverage, grout/thinset coverage, expansion gap and acclimation are labeled industry planning typicals — confirm against the manufacturer’s install instructions and your product’s spec sheet before ordering. A subfloor sheet is a coverage/prep quantity, not a structural design; joist span and floor load are for a qualified builder and local code. A heated/radiant-floor mat is a user-entered cost line-item, not a heat-load or BTU calculation.
Not an installation or safety guide
Nothing here is an installation procedure, a structural or engineering determination, or safety advice. Defer the professional install to a licensed, insured flooring installer and confirm code with your local authority.
